Side Hustles

I worked in Corporate America for almost 30 years and finally retired last year at the age of 50. I was burned out and wanted to do something more creative with my time. In my final few years of corporate work, I was exposed to the FIRE community (Financial Independence Retire Early) and heard about creating printables and selling them on Etsy from Julie and Cody of Gold City Ventures. This sounded like the perfect side hustle to channel my creative energy!

Ice Breaker Printables was Born

Ice Breaker PrintablesI opened my Etsy shop, IceBreakerPrintables, in 2019 for the following reasons:

  1. I needed more creativity in my life
  2. Wanted to test and see if it was possible for ME to make money online

THE RESULT

Success on both accounts!

I had fun creating super simple designs and being authentic with what I was doing.

The theme of my shop is party games. Within the first week I had my first sale and had hit my 100th sale within 50 days of opening my shop! I was more excited about hearing the cha-ching from Etsy and making a $5 sale than I ever was working in my corporate job.

Sounds crazy, but true! I could and did make money online!

5 Reasons to Sign Up for Etsy E-Printables Course with Gold City Ventures

I signed up for the E-Printables course in early 2019 and was one of the first few waves of students for Gold City Venture’s courses. I have seen the program grow and evolve and it is even better than it was when I joined in 2019.

If you are thinking you might want to try setting up an Etsy shop, just do it and here are my 5 Reasons to Sign Up for the Etsy E-Printable Course by Gold City Ventures.

1. It’s Fun and Creative

Seasonal Products SecretsI am not super artsy and did not think I was that creative, but you don’t know until you try. I picked a simple design style that I knew I could reproduce and just went for it. There is a free software program called, Canva, that the E-Printables Course has you use and it is so intuitive and fun to begin creating printables.

Most of my printables are seasonal items for the holidays or events like Birthdays. If you want to learn more about how seasonal items are an easy way to be successful on Etsy, check out this free eBook, Seasonal Products Secrets.

2. $$ Make Money $$

Like I said, making a $5 sale was so rewarding!  Every time I hear my Etsy cha-ching for a sale, I thank the person that chose to purchase my printable. I created the design once and I keep getting paid. Amazing!

I think I paid back the cost of the course within 60 days of opening up my shop.

3. Community

When we try something new, having a community that has your back is always a good feeling. The E-Printables community is amazingly supportive. I am still friends with some of the women I met through the Course. The VIP Membership is critical as the FaceBook group is so helpful. I also took advantage of the monthly Shop Reviews, Live Q&A with Julie and Cody, and just started listening to the Members Only Podcast.

The E-Printables Course will help you step by step to set up your shop and will “hold your hand” through the process. We will help you become successful!

4. Free Monthly Templates

Ugly Sweater Christmas Game BundleOkay, I had not really been paying attention this year to all the resources that the E-Printables Course offers. Every month they post free commercial templates we can customize and use on Etsy. I just finished my first Christmas Game Bundle that was one of the free templates this month. I had been wanting to expand my product line and this gave me the push to do so.

Check out my listing and have some holiday F.U.N!

5. 100 Sales Club

Etsy Ice Breaker PrintablesOnce you hit your 100th Etsy sale, you become part of the VIP Membership for FREE and have access to all the tools for life. This is a very attainable goal! I hit this goal in less than 2 months after opening my shop. You can do it too!

I hope this gives you the confidence to take the next step and sign up for Gold City Venture’s E-Printables Course.

Have fun party people!

Traveling Light

I love my toiletry bag! Scott makes fun of my toiletry bag all the time and how it takes up half the suitcase when we used to travel.

I would agree.

I am not a big makeup person, but for some reason I really have loads of toiletries. I love them & need them! I love traveling light.

Year of the Beard

Year of the Beard

Did you know there is a beard “club” for dudes that have longer, mountain man style beards? Yep, it’s true.

Dudes with longer beards will give a little nod and slight wink to other dudes with longer beards. It is like motorcycle riders that will give little waves to other motorcycle riders, UPS drivers acknowledging other UPS drivers, or truck drivers nodding to another truck driver. The Year of the Beard begins.
